Our Life

The King Manor

We purchased a fixer upper in 2015 with children in mind. The house has a nursery that has 3 windows that are filled with light (perfect for suncatchers!), a guest room, and the largest living room I've ever seen. It runs 1/2 the length of the house and has a window that is begging to have a window seat installed. The yard is a multi level yard with a decent sized garden and an area that is perfect for a swingset. It also has a 100 year old tree in the back yard that should have a tire swing attached. The upstairs covered balcony is a perfect place to set a pack and play and catch the summer breeze while being shaded from the harsh Iowan sun. The house has lots of charm (realtor speak for wallpaper and odd things that could be fixed) and we love being able to put our own touch on it.
It has sweeping views of the countryside, beautiful sunsets, and lots of space for our kids to run around and play. It sits on a hill that is PERFECT for sledding down! We hope that our children will have the perfect combination of a slower childhood in the country and trips to the "City" for evenings out, plays, dinners, and museums.

Our friends often join us for cook outs and movie or game nights. Our favorite part of our home is our living room. We love sitting on the deck and grilling up some yummy foods while watching the sunset and the lights from Omaha come on. We live on a residential street with very little traffic and we are right around the corner from the city pool, multiple parks, and lots of country trails.

Jenna & David love to get all gussied up and go out for dinner.
They are strong believers that relationships take time, effort, and conscious choices to be successful.
We work as a family to run Stickalicious Pops and are proud to support each other.

David works an early morning job and is usually at work by 5:30 am but home by 4 pm.  He works as a receiving specialist for Omaha Steaks and really enjoys his job. David is very detail oriented and focused on getting all of his paperwork perfect. Jenna is the opposite. She is a dreamer and comes up with the big ideas. She currently works in sales and marketing for State Farm Insurance but will be leaving to focus on our new Ice Pop business.  She coordinates crafts on the side and is always trying to sell something. Her job is 8-5 and very flexible. She can work from home if she has to. We don't want to use daycare and Dad has agreed to have baby duty while we are at work.  After the adoption, Jenna will take time off of work for a few months and stay home with the baby. David probably take 2 days a week off and stay home with the baby so Jenna can get caught up on some work and Dad will nanny for us when necessary while we bond with the baby.
