David & Jenna's Adoption Profile: Family Practice!

Dave and I have been blessed with the chance to hone our parenting skillzz on our friends' children and our nieces and nephews as well as in our volunteer work for Big Brother Big Sister and our church's Sunday School program. We have worked with newborns all the way to 6th graders (where they transition to youth groups). My passion is with newborns through 2nd graders and David loves working with 3rd graders through middle schoolers.

We believe in raising a child in a stable environment where they feel safe to dream and try new experiences without fear of failure. Dave and I come from a tight knit family (Dave's dad actually lives with us!) that enjoys volunteer work, time spent together and homemade family dinners at the dinner table almost every night.

We believe in making sure the rules are known and that all punishment is consistent with the crime. We are not big fans of spanking and believe that time outs and a loss of privileges are effective tools for punishment. All forms of punishment are accompanied by a discussion of what rule was broken and why it is an important rule.
We enjoy spending time with our nieces, nephews, and our friends children. We are always dressing up for Halloween, going to the Pumpkin Patch, baking cookies, or playing games with them.
